Our newsroom

Every story on Soft2Cloud News is produced by the Soft2Cloud News Desk in Lahore and approved by our editor-in-chief before it is published.

The news desk

The Soft2Cloud News Desk is the newsroom team of Soft2Cloud, a software company at New Liberty Tower, Model Town Link Road, Lahore. The desk researches, writes and updates stories in English and Urdu every day, with a focus on news that changes what people in Pakistan pay, earn, save or decide. Stories carry the desk byline because each one is a team effort: research, writing, fact-checking and editing are done by different people.

Editor-in-chief: H A Mehmood

H A Mehmood is the CEO of Soft2Cloud and the editor-in-chief of Soft2Cloud News. He sets the editorial standards, approves what we cover and is responsible for every story we publish, including corrections. You can reach him through [email protected] or WhatsApp +92 370 6353528.

How a story is made

  1. Choosing the story. We pick topics readers are searching for or will need to act on today - rates, prices, results, deadlines and changes in rules.
  2. Research. We go to the original source first: the State Bank, FBR, OGRA, PCB, boards and universities, company filings, and established news organisations.
  3. Writing. The story is written in our own words, with the key facts at the top and a plain explanation of what it means for the reader.
  4. Fact-check. Every number, date and name is checked against the sources, which are listed with links at the end of the story.
  5. Edit and publish. The editor checks fairness, clarity and safety before the story goes live. If facts change, the story is updated and shows an "Updated" date.
