Petrol price cut to Rs374.51, diesel to Rs395.20 from 3 November - how much you save

Petrol is now Rs374.51 a litre and diesel Rs395.20 after OGRA cut prices by Rs3.40 and Rs7.76 from 3 November, as global oil fell about 6%.

Petrol now costs Rs374.51 a litre and high-speed diesel Rs395.20 a litre in Pakistan from Tuesday, 3 November 2026. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) cut petrol by Rs3.40 and diesel by Rs7.76 in a press release issued on Monday night.

Diesel gets the bigger relief. That matters for transporters, farmers and anyone whose goods move by truck, because diesel had risen in each of the last few revisions.

New petrol price today at a glance

FuelUntil 2 NovemberFrom 3 NovemberChange
PetrolRs377.91Rs374.51-Rs3.40
High-speed dieselRs402.96Rs395.20-Rs7.76

Prices are revised on a daily basis under the mechanism the government brought in on 17 July, The Express Tribune noted. So these rates hold until OGRA issues the next notification.

How today compares with last week

The cut reverses most of last week's diesel increases. Using the rates we reported over the past week:

DatePetrolDiesel
27 OctoberRs379.25Rs395.82
28 OctoberRs376.06Rs398.07
31 OctoberRs377.91Rs402.96
3 NovemberRs374.51Rs395.20

Diesel is now 62 paisa cheaper than on 27 October, after peaking at Rs402.96 over the weekend. Petrol is Rs4.74 below its 27 October level. You can follow every change on our rate tracker.

On Friday, 30 October, diesel had gone up by Rs2.29, from Rs400.67 to Rs402.96, while petrol was kept unchanged, Aaj News reported. Monday's revision is the first time petrol has moved since then.

Why did fuel prices fall?

The main reason is the drop in world oil prices on Monday.

  • Brent crude fell $6.78, or 6%, to $106.65 a barrel, and US crude (WTI) fell $6.37 to $97.75, Business Recorder reported.
  • Oil fell on hopes from talks involving Iranian and Qatari mediators on ending the war, which could ease supply worries in the Middle East. We explained that move in our oil price story.
  • OGRA's release pointed to changes in Platts prices, premiums and incidentals, the international benchmarks used to price imported fuel.

There is also a local factor for petrol. Refineries have been told to give up the extra war-time premium they were earning, which lowers the petroleum levy charged to fuel companies. The Express Tribune said this puts a burden of about Rs15 billion a month on refineries. We covered that change in detail in our story on the Rs14.71 petrol relief.

How much will you actually save?

The saving per litre is small for petrol, but it adds up. The table below is an illustration only, calculated at the old and new official prices. Your real bill depends on how much you drive.

Monthly useFuelCost at new priceSaving per month
20 litres (motorcycle)PetrolRs7,490Rs68
40 litres (small car)PetrolRs14,980Rs136
60 litres (daily commuter car)PetrolRs22,471Rs204
100 litres (pickup or tractor)DieselRs39,520Rs776
1,000 litres (goods truck)DieselRs395,200Rs7,760

For a family car, the saving is about Rs34 a week. For a truck owner using 1,000 litres a month, it is a meaningful Rs7,760.

Will fares and goods prices come down?

Not automatically. Transport fares and freight charges are set by operators and, in some cases, by provincial transport authorities. A single cut of Rs7.76 often does not change fares, especially after several increases. Watch for official notices from your provincial transport department before expecting lower bus or rickshaw fares.

Diesel also runs tractors and many tube wells, so the larger diesel cut matters more for farm costs than the petrol cut.

What to do now

  • Check the pump display: make sure the meter starts at zero and the price shown is Rs374.51 for petrol or Rs395.20 for diesel.
  • Do not fill up in a panic: prices now change often, in both directions. Buy what you need.
  • Keep an eye on oil news: if peace talks fail, oil can jump again, and Pakistan's prices follow within days.
  • Plan your monthly budget: use the fuel calculator below with your own distance and mileage.
